Did you know that over 40 million pictures are posted daily to Instagram? That’s an impressive number, and would be impressive if Instagram can impact your business growth. While Instagram has a huge worldwide following, it is not the best social media outlet for every business. How do you know if it’s worth your time? I have put together a list of businesses that can grow by using Instagram!
- Non-profit Organizations
According to Merriam Webster’s Dictionary, a non-profit organization (NPO) is not existing or done for the purpose of making a profit. Further research will show that a non-profit organization is an organization that uses its surplus revenues to further achieve its purpose or mission. With this being said, Instagram users love to raise awareness for a good cause with a fun hashtag. Try starting a text to donate campaign like the Humane Society did here. Or even share an event that is coming up to build awareness with that catchy hashtag you launched. (Visit here for more ideas.)
- Online and E-Commerce Businesses
An online business can be a small portion of a larger entity to bring in more revenue. However, for the purpose of this topic, I am focusing on anyone that has only an online business. Do you offer wholesale items or sell handmade goods on your online store. Instagram can be used to help you sell to more people. In general, Instagram users practice “a like for a like.” The more people you follow on Instagram, the more likely you are to gain followers and exposure. Your additional followers will see and respond to your product images, so be sure to include the link to your online store in the caption!
- Boutiques and Individual Stores
Any small store can be considered boutique whether you are selling clothes, crafts or hardware. Use this to your advantage. People love one of kind shops and the quaint feel of a boutique. Post your new arrivals! Show pictures of your staff setting up a new display. This “behind the scenes” approach will make your followers feel part of your world. Around holidays, take advantage of local hashtags that will help your page be seen by more people. My favorite hashtag is #shoplocal.
- Restaurants
Restaurants are in a unique position of selling a product that everyone needs, multiple times a day. Instagram allows restaurant owners to communicate directly to hungry patrons in the palm of their hands! Show your mouth watering food via pictures. Staging and posting the daily specials, a giveaway or contest, and even drink images will keep you top of mind as followers are deciding “where do I want to eat?” Remember: Instagram is not for everyone or every business. While it’s important to stay top of mind to your customers, it’s also important to use marketing that is best for your business. Make sure your company only joins Instagram if you have a strategy for content, an easily accessible product or service, and most importantly, that you have the time to post consistently! An empty or erratic Instagram profile will do more harm than good. Want to get more updates for your business? Get my emails: http://eepurl.com/bbDIN9
