Nashville, Tennessee – Anna-Vija McClain, Founder and CEO of Nashville-based marketing firm Piccolo Solutions, has been elected as Board President of the Nashville Emerging Leaders (NEL), the city’s first and most prestigious leadership development program of its kind. She previously served as the Vice President of the Board and Chair of the Communications Committee in past years.
Anna-Vija is excited to continue growing the Nashville Emerging Leader program, focusing on diversity, community partnerships, and corporate sponsorships.
“Our Board members are selected from our program’s alumni, making the group especially well connected and inspired to grow the organization,” said Anna-Vija McClain. “During my time on the Board, we have already seen a growth in momentum, focusing on the cohort’s diversity and community engagement. I’m looking forward to continuing that energy, and forming strategic partnerships with other Nashville leadership programs and sponsors.”
Anna-Vija has served several Boards appointments and nonprofit leadership roles, focused on Nashville’s small businesses, entrepreneurs, and leadership development. She has a personal passion for mentoring our next generation of women leaders, serving as the Executive in Residence for the Vanderbilt Women in Business organization and frequently speaking at local universities. Anna-Vija has been recognized by the Nashville Business Journal as a 40 Under 40, Best in Business, Most Admired CEO, and by the Nashville Chamber of Commerce as a Nashville Emerging Leader. She graduated the Nashville Emerging Leader program in 2020.
The 11-week personal and professional leadership training program brings together the top minds across diverse backgrounds and perspectives working to shape Nashville’s future. The program includes interactive exercises, issue exploration, self-assessments, community participation, group projects and in-depth discussions with Middle Tennessee’s top community and business leaders.
About Nashville Emerging Leaders
Founded in 2002, Nashville Emerging Leaders has been instrumental in supporting the growth of the next generation of Nashville’s leaders. This 11-week leadership training program is designed to support young professionals by connecting them with other leaders in the community, deep self-exploration, and intentional team building. Each year, approximately 30 individuals are chosen through a rigorous selection process to participate in a series of weekly sessions led and moderated by the team at Strategy and Leadership.
