Don’t Be “Too Busy” – Keep Your Business Top of Mind this Holiday Season

Don’t be just another company lost in the rush of the holidays. As we all experience, this time of year can be hectic. From late-night work meetings to scattered family gatherings, there’s a lot to get done before the year comes to a close. Be the company that stands out to your customer through all of the clutter. This is the season to be the first one on their mind as they try to think up the perfect gift for a loved one or make plans for next year. It doesn’t have to be hard! Try something new and unique, such as hand-written letters or cards, engaging through social media or even attending events to communicate your message in person. Some of these ideas may take a little bit more time and effort, but can gain a possible lifelong customer. Handwritten Letters Customers are receiving tons of mail, emails and even letters during this time of year, so it’s important to focus on personalizing your message. Surprise them with something hand-written or even just addressed directly to them. The smallest things can make the biggest impact to a customer. These cards are the ones that also last longer. Now that you’ve grabbed their attention, they place the card on the mantle and that simple card has become a piece in your marketing mix. You’ve not only marketed yourself to them, you’re now marketing to their family and friends that also visit around the holidays. Social Media Engagement Companies have been using social media as their way to communicate sales, new products and company news, but it’s important to make sure that you’re utilizing these sites to engage more during the holidays. Try posting contests for customers to “Share” or “Like” posts as a way for them to interact with your company, post pictures of your products to remind them of what you have to offer or even just simply send out a welcoming post to invite them to check out your website. It’s crucial to be proactive on social media as a business, especially around the holidays. Meet In Person If communicating through technology and cards doesn’t feel like enough, there is always a way to make an impact in person. Attend holiday or community events to mingle with local consumers and businesses. Although this takes time, it can be the best way to make a first and lasting impression. Check out my tips on which types of events to go to maximize your impact HERE. Last, but not least, after all of the hard work you’ve put in this year, take a moment to relax and enjoy the holidays! You deserve it. Image Credit: http://debigraywalter.com/2014/01/
