Is Working From Home Right for You? Weigh the Pros and Cons

Sleep in… wear your pajamas… take a nap… watch your favorite TV shows… Sounds great, doesn’t it? Nicole Fallon of the Business News Daily recently published an article debunking 8 common myths about working from home. Addressing the most common myths, including productivity, distractions, and virtual meetings.

There is no doubt that working from home has a certain ring to it. In reality, however, it is A LOT of work! I’ve found that while I don’t have to get up at 6:00 am, I do work a lot more than I used to with a 9-5 job. Between maintaining contact with my network, completing the management tasks of running a company…Oh! and still getting everything done, on time, for your clients, there is a lot of work behind working from home.

Yes, I do get to sit on my couch, in my pajamas if I want… but I have to be self-managed and motivated enough to keep things moving with the professionalism of any other company. One perk: no one minds if I eat at my desk and drink the whole pot of coffee without making more!  😉
